And These Three Remain
Using Faith, Hope and Love to promote unity throughout the Body of Christ

"8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. 13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." -- 1 Corinthians 13:8-13

5 July, 2005: Forums Reset

While transferring the ministry's website to the new host, the forum backup became corrupted and all the data for One Body Forums was lost. The forums are up, and have been set up as they were, but there are no users and no posts. If you had previously registered, you will need to register again at http://www.onebodyministries.com/forums/. If you have not registered to participate in our discussion forums, now is a good time! 16 July, 2005: National Jubilee

The One Body Ministries 2005 National Jubilee took place at the Hilton Garden Inn, Mobile, AL, on Saturday, 16 July. Due to Hurricane Dennis, turnout was lower than expected, but we still accomplished everything we set out to. In addition to the administrative business, the following main points were discussed:

Book Publishing –

Todd Uebele discussed the development process for the book, "Father Make Them One: A Prayer of Jesus."  The book is complete.  Chapter one was distributed to each person in attendance.  It is a goal of next year to get the book published.  This is a key source of income for the ministry.

Todd Uebele has started a second book entitled, “Fight the Good Fight: A Spiritual Call to Arms.”  This book is about 80% complete in the rough draft form.

Semi-Annual Conference –

The next conference is scheduled for November.  It will be held in Pascagoula, MS.  We are hoping for an attendance between 500 and 1000.  Key to the success of this conference will be media relations and a grass-roots level announcement by telephone and email. Currently we are putting together a conference committee. This committee will initialize the planning and carry out the implementation of what will be the first step in our bold plan.

Other Speaking Engagements –

It is key to the success of the Ministry to develop a regular speaking schedule at local and regional churches.  In the past few weeks, Todd Uebele has had several opportunities to speak for the Church on the Rock men’s ministry.

Conceptual Products

We discussed what it takes to have a successful ministry.  The ministry’s function is to be a movement to unite Christians and Christian Churches to work together to save the lost.  The products we produce are:

·        Teaching and speaking on how to convert the unsaved and the goals of the Christian faith.

·        Providing materials (books, CDs and tapes, web content, and handouts) to accomplish the ministry’s function.

·        Facilitating communications of like-minded Christian individuals and organizations.

·        Providing a set of core values toward achieving Christian unity.

Suggestions from the assembled group were requested.

Old Thompson
A Poem by Todd Uebele

Old Thompson sat in his place
His binding was broken
But smooth, still, was his face
His body was worn
His cover long gone
He was torn and battered
But still he went on
Faithful was he
And eager to server
Day after day he sat in his place
Old Thompson had been the world over
From the seas of Arabia
To the Caribbean Isles
He brought laughter and joy
Leaving plenty of smiles
His message was simple
One of Great Love
He was open to all
He turned no one away
Sharing the message was his great call
They tried to update him
They tried to repair him
Old Thompson was the tireless sort
He was used and used
And used some more
In public and private
In the open
And behind closed door
Broken, torn, battered, worn
Old Thompson, his use was a must
For the joy of our Savior would be lost
If he sat on a shelf collecting dust

Bit 'O Humor

Clean Joke of the Day

John's job is in the aerospace industry, and it's always been a challenge for him to explain what kind of work he does.

At one gathering, John tried several unsuccessful attempted explanations before deciding to be as generic as possible. When the subject came up while he was talking with a group of guys, he replied simply, "Defense contractor."

The men nodded, and as the conversation went on, John silently declared victory to himself. Then, one of them turned to him and asked, "So, what do you put up mainly? Chain-link?"

How deep is your understanding?

And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. -1 John 5:20
