Prayer Requests
Due to the overwhelming response for prayer requests, this page has been added and will be updated as prayer requests are received. If you have something you would like us to remember in your prayers, please do not hesitate to contact us and let us help carry your burden. Requests go out with each newsletter and are posted here between newsletters so people across the country can help carry your burdens as well. We stand in agreement with Jerry Boyer and those who have sought prayer in his Haven n' Tell Prayer Room, and with people all across the country through the Online Prayer Network. Please remember each of these people and lift them up before our Lord in your conversations with Him.
Current Prayer Requests:
Recently, one of our supporters lost his brother in an accident. Details are still sketchy, but I would like to ask all of you to stand in agreement with me in praying for this man and his family.
The mother of our Children's Minister had recently been hospitalized with congenital heart failure. This lady recently lost her sister and now her mother is also close to dying. Please remember the children's minister, her mother and her family in your prayers. Please pray for comfort, strength and healing.
A dear brother in Christ is recenly divorced and just finished a hard custody battle. Please pray for calming and for peace. This individual also passed on a praise that his father is doing well.
Robert's Job causes him to travel a lot. He is currently going to be away for three weeks. Please pray for his safety in travelling and for his family while he is away.
As the 2006 hurricane season approach nears, hundreds of thousands of people are still trying to recover from the major storms of last season. The entire northern gulf coast is still in pretty rough shape. It will not take another major hurricane to do a lot of damage. Please remember these people and the region in your prayers.
We were recently contacted by Reuben Rai in Napal. He has a ministry that does the work of evangelism and church planting. They also work among youth, children, women, and in publication. Please remember this ministry in your prayers.
- A dear brother in Christ stationed in Texas was has deployed to Iraq. The unit is the 4th Infantry Division. This is their second deployment to Iraq. Please remember all of the soldiers and their families in your prayers.
Please pray for the spouse of a sister in Christ. He is a Believer, but has never developed a real relationship with our Lord. Please pray that God will speak to his heart and that her husband will open himself for that relationship to form.
A couple in Ohio have been trying to have a child for several years. They are discouraged and confused. Please pray for peace for this couple as well as for God to touch them and create life, should it be His will.
A Christian family in Kentucky asks for prayers for their family as they are in the middle of a crisis. They ask for prayers for the restoration of their family.
The following was received from a sister in Christ. Please keep her husband, Bob, and their family in your prayers.
“My husband, Bob, was diagnosed last December (5 years to the day that he accepted Christ as his Savior) with stage IV Renal Cell Cancer (kidney cancer). At that time they told us there would be no cure….Kidney cancer is difficult to treat - there are no really effective treatments, chemo doesn't work and radiation is only pallative. The treatment he begins tomorrow is especially harsh, it offers only a 5-7% chance to eliminate the cancer….Bob has kept a positive attitude regarding his disease, hoping to be a witness for God through this. We have been married 30 years, never been more in love than in this last year. We have two sons ages 21 and 17. We are not done loving him and want him here with us a bit longer.” UPDATE 6/1/06: Bob has had 49 doses of high dose IL-2, in 6 separate weeks of treatment. Not one of them was easy. We got through in no small part due to the support and prayers of friends, family and our "cyber" friends. The last set of scans have shown that the tumors in his lungs have gone from "too many to count" down to two. Small ones at that. All others are stable or showing signs of "dying". This is great news. The doctors say he has responded well beyond their expectations. Bob goes for scans mid July and again in September. There will be no more treatment unless he shows progression. I have every hope that he will not progress. Bob has some residual pain in his arms and hands from treatment, along with fatigue, but he is back at work. We are planning a late summer vacation and saw our youngest graduate yesterday. We are slowly getting back to normal. Although nothing will ever be quite the same. Through this journey we have learned so much. God has been so good to us in countless ways. Getting to know fellow Christians, who have been such faithful prayer warriors, is just one of the blessings we have received.
